If you have been clamoring for a dedicated Night Mode on the camera of your T-Mobile Galaxy S10 and S10+, the new camera feature is finally arriving. The updates were first applied together with the May/June security patches, and we are past mid-August now, but better late than never.
T-Mobile is actually the last of the big four US carriers, after AT&T, Verizon and even Sprint got the June security update with the new Night Mode function, as well as the QR Code scanner for Wi-Fi sharing.
Look for an over the air firmware update request on your T-Mobile Galaxy S10e, S10 or S10+, with the number G97*U1UEU2ASGB. The ASGB designation at the end means that it has the camera features update and it also carries the July security patch.
This manual Night Mode will take the place of the automatic Bright Night scene optimizer which was a hit or miss affair, making your T-Mobile-issued S10 on par with such great performers in the pantheon of night camera prowess as Pixel or Huawei phones. The update is more than 600MB in size but, hey, what are unlimited data plans for?
