T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9900 will gain Wi-Fi calling sometime in November?
Easily differentiating itself from the competition, we’ve always applauded T-Mobile’s line of BlackBerry Bold smartphone since they offered the useful functionality of UMA Wi-Fi calling. Well, all of that changed as the carrier finally introduced the recent BlackBerry Bold 9900, which was missing the beloved feature.
Obviously, there are some veteran users who have been clamoring to one day see the function come back, especially for this next-generation Bold handset. Thankfully, it looks like there’s some good news on the horizon seeing that it’s being reported that the much-loved feature will be arriving on the Bold 9900 sometime in November.
Apparently, the good news come straight from a T-Mobile PR representative, Kevin Wren. Specifically, it seems that a maintenance release from RIM will become available for the Bold 9900 in November 2011 – thus, enabling the smartphone for Wi-Fi calling.
Call it an early Christmas gift or something, but we’re sure that new Bold 9900 owners will surely be waiting for the day when that specific maintenance update starts to roll out.
