T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 get Wi-Fi calling with latest software update
T-Mobile is pushing out a new software update for BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Torch 9810 smartphones, which brings their OS version to 7.1. The update should be already live, but if you have not received it yet, expect getting a notification in the very near future. Alternatively, you can check for an update manually from the Options menu on your device.
Probably the most significant new feature that the BlackBerry OS 7.1 update brings is Wi-Fi calling. And it was about time, we have to add, as the feature was expected to be made available in November of last year. Another cool trick that your BlackBerry smartphone will learn is to act as a wireless hotspot or a 3G USB modem. BBM Music and Bing search are also in tow, along with a feature called BlackBerry device analyzer, which helps you resolve technical issues with your BlackBerry smartphone without having to call customer service for assistance. Of course, plenty of bugs have been squashed, and the overall stability of the platform has been improved.
So, what do you think of the new BlackBerry OS 7.1 update? Are you glad that you can now talk for free with Wi-Fi calling? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
