In their attempt at furthering Ovi Map's grasp in the newly competitive GPS market, the latest version of Ovi Maps packs on some new features to keep itself in the forefront of being fresh. They obviously have some recognition in the market as the company claims that there have been more than 10 million downloads in the last 3 months for Ovi Maps. The latest version features some impressive graphical prowess to the application, positioning on a map via Wi-Fi, additional Points of Interests, and support for Qype that's essentially a well-liked reviews and recommendation system that's heavily used in Europe for businesses and points of interests. Do you happen to detest those preloaded voices used for turn-by-turn navigation? Well then, this latest version of Ovi Maps enables users to record their own voices which can used as the system voice for the application. As we'll undoubtedly see some fierce competition in this growing segment, it looks likely that Nokia will be able to keep up with the pack with each update they release; so far they haven't disappointed anyone.
