Super zippy Android 2.1 build for DROID from AllDroid caught on video
The other day we reported that the guys at AllDroid had ported over to the DROID, the Android 2.1 firmware from the Milestone. The end result was a little buggy, but as the video attested to, the pinch-to zoom feature worked well. Now there is a stable version for DROID owners to play around with and all the info can be found at the source link. Speed seems to be the highlight and while we are happy to see a faster DROID, we do have to tell you that there are risks involved in moving the firmware on to your handset including bricking your phone, voiding your warranty and finding out that your M-I-L just bought a DROID. If you do decide to port over 2.1 to your device, let us know how it goes for you and your M-I-L after she asks you to do it for her.
