Just about everywhere you turn, we're seeing more and more people using Twitter for various ways of communication. Actually, it can become quite useful for educational purposes. Monica Rankin, a professor at the University of Texas-Dallas, required students in her class to sign up for a Twitter account. The reasoning behind it was due to the sheer number of students in the lecture hall – making it extremely difficult to converse over the large area for everyone to listen. Once the class was in session, students posted messages and ask questions using their mobile devices; which then were projected on a screen for everyone to see.
