Extended warranty provider Square Trade put the Apple iPhone 6s and Apple iPhone 6s Plus through a series of "torture tests" and discovered that the this year's models might be the sturdiest iPhones ever built. Both iPhone models scored well on bendability with the iPhone 6s Plus actually scoring better than the iPhone 6s and the Samsung Galaxy Note5. The latter had a terrible score for surviving a face down drop, and all three models, while not officially waterproof, will apparently survive getting wet. Just the other day, we showed you a video of both new iPhone models submerged in water for 60 minutes without suffering any apparent damage.
If there was a vulnerability for the iPhone 6s, it was the thermo test where the phone is examined to see if it can stand up to extreme temperatures. The iPhone 6s Plus scored a little better on this test, while the Galaxy Note5 outperformed both Apple models under extreme temperatures. By the way, in case you were curious, the Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus tended to bend when 110 pounds was applied to each device. The iPhone 6s can handle 170 pounds before bending, with the iPhone 6s Plus able to withstand 190 pounds.
Overall, with a lower score better, the iPhone 6s tallied a 4.5 according to Square Trade. That topped the 5 rating scored by both the iPhone 6s Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note5. All three phones are considered "Medium Risk" by the company.
