As promised, Sprint has just announced upcoming 4G coverage for a number of new markets, stretching it coast to coast from Los Angeles to Miami. As a matter of fact, the new markets that will see the carrier's WiMAX network this year include Cincinnati, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Miami, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City and St. Louis. These come in addition to the previously announced Boston, Denver, Kansas City, Houston, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. - all to get WiMAX coverage in 2010. With these new announcements, Sprint is really making a push into some major markets with its variant of 4G. See that, Verizon and AT&T?
The HTC Supersonic may get announced today for Sprint
The carrier has also once again confirmed that it will launch a 4G phone this year. Hm, could it be the HTC Supersonic, rumored to be announced today at CTIA? Why not? As some Sprint Premier Customers have reported, they have received a message, saying "Visit us tomorrow for an exciting announcement about a groundbreaking new device". And yes, they've gotten that yesterday. Of course, the message says "device" and not "phone", which leaves some questions to be answered, but we guess we'll know everything pretty soon. Stay with us!
