Sprint extends 4G roaming to users operating in Jamaica and Taiwan
Sprint announced today that users traveling to Jamaica and Taiwan will be able to utilize 4G roaming services, for the cost of $14.99 per day. The expansion is part of a collaboration, announced in late December, between Sprint, Jamaica's Digicel, and Taiwan's Global Mobile. The service will be open to users of the Sprint 3G/4G 250U USB Modem, or the Sprint 3G/4G U600 USB Modem.
“Sprint has partnered with Digicel and Global Mobile to further enhance the global 4G ecosystem with services that empower travelers on the go,” said Todd Rowley, VP of Sprint 4G. Users connecting with the Sprint SmartView connection manager will instantly see the Digicel and Global Mobile networks available.
Granted, the expansion would be more momentous if it were in even larger markets. But it bodes well for expansion to more European and Asian 4G networks. Business travelers will surely appreciate the ability to stay connected on the go, even when they are away from their beloved Sprint 4G network.
