Spotify to launch standalone app for Apple Watch, beta version being tested
Spotify is working to bring a standalone app to the Apple Watch to make it easier for users to access its music streaming service while on the move. Although no official announcements were made yet, a beta version of Spotify for Apple Watch is now available for download if you're via the TestFlight channel.
The app does seem to be in the early stages of development since it doesn't include any feature for offline use, so you are limited to playback controls at the moment, MacRumors reports. First spotted by a Redditor, the new Spotify for iOS beta version can be downloaded soon after you apply for the beta program.
Coincidence or not, Spotify recently released a standalone app for Wear OS wearable devices, so it looks like the company is interested in bringing its app to as many devices as possible.

It's true that Spotify has started to test an app for the Apple Watch, but there's no telling when exactly it will be made available to everyone, but stick around as we'll be back with news once the status of the beta changes.
