Spotify intros Canvas, a new visual experience for Android and iOS apps
Spotify recently introduced a new way for artists to interact with its music app – Canvas. The new feature has been tested with select artists fro some time, and starting this week, artists and fans alike are invited to try it out on their mobile phones.
Canvas lets artists create their own looping visuals in the “Now Playing” view, the most viewed location in the Spotify mobile app on Android and iOS. Spotify believes that adding a unique Canvas to a track or album can help keep artists' listeners hooked.
Moreover, whenever a high-quality Canvas is added, it can increase streams, saves, artist profile visits and shares. Canvas is not yet ready for prime time, as Spotify is still testing the feature but it's using a larger audience.
The get into the beta program you have to be invited first, so you'll have to wait patiently if you're an artist who wants to increase viewership. For more details on how to create Canvas and add it to your content on Spotify, make sure to check out the dedicated website.
