Sony's Xperia M4 Aqua is headed to Canada later this month
Late on in May, the Sony Xperia M4 Aquadebuted in the U.K, and after a subsequent event in New Delhi, rolled out alongside the Xperia C4 across India last week. Although classified as a mid-ranger, the M4 Aqua includes a strong assortment of hardware, and with dust and waterproofing to boot, seems a worthy understudy to those who don't require the power and features of the flagship Xperia Z3+. If you're based in Canada and looking to get your hands on the M4 Aqua, then your wait is almost over, with Bell, Fido, Videotron, Virgin Mobile and WIND Mobile all set to carry the handset later this month.
With a 64-bit octa-core processor, the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is no pushover, although the 720 x 1280 resolution of its 5-inch display is a bit of a let-down. But with Sony claiming a two-day battery life, sacrifices had to be made somewhere, and if you're in the hunt for a capable, rugged device that will keep ticking over longer than many, then the 720p display may seem a viable trade-off.
Aside from the processor, the Xperia M4 Aqua packs a reasonable 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which you can increase by means of a microSD card if you're looking to hold more data. The 13-megapixel camera is solid, as you'd expect from a company that knows one or two things about the point-and-shoot market, and with IP68 certification, you can cross dust and water off the list of things that might kill your handset.
The Xperia M4 Aqua will be looking to make a splash from mid-June throughout Canada, although if you're wanting a specific color, it should be noted that certain carriers mightn't offer every configuration. There's no word on how much the handset will cost in Canada as yet, but with an MSRP of €299 in Europe, Canadians can expect to shell out around CAD 409 ($325) for the privileged of owning the Xperia M4 Aqua.
