Sony's 16GB Tablet S launches on HSN for $599, $100 more than Sony's pre-order price
Not necessarily the usual place to find a new Android tablet launching, Home Shopping Network is debuting the Sony Tablet S, the more traditional of the manufacturer's two tablets. The Sony Tablet S is equipped with a 9.4 inch screen (800 x 1280 resolution) with a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz processor inside. There are two cameras aboard, a 5MP shooter on the back and a .3MP one on the front. The model being offered by HSN is the 16GB version and is powered by Android 3.1.
Now here is where things get a bit unusual. HSN is offering the 16GB Sony Tablet S for $599.95 or for 4 payments of $149.98. Sony, on the other hand, is taking pre-orders for the same exact device for $499.99. Android Central spoke with HSN which confirmed the pricing and said that orders are shipping now.
So those who want the Sony Tablet S are left with a choice. You can pay $599.95 and get the device shipped to you now, or you can save $100 and pre-order the tablet directly from Sony, but you will have to wait until the manufacturer announces a shipping date before you get your mitts on the tablet.
