Sony to host IFA press conference on September 3, Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact could be announced then

Lately, we’ve heard a lot about Sony’s unannounced Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact, and most rumors seem to suggest that the handsets will probably be announced at IFA 2014 in September. Sony has yet to confirm its presence at IFA this year, but XperiaBlog reports that the company will be there anyway.

Allegedly, Sony will host its IFA 2014 press conference on September 3. While that’s two days before IFA officially kicks-off, it’s not uncommon for companies to showcase new products prior to a major event. So we can certainly circle September 3 as a possible announcement date for both the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact.

The Xperia Z3 is supposed to be only 7 mm thin, but its internals may not differ much from what the Z2 is already offering. It’s said that the Z3 will feature a 5.15-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels, 20.7 MP rear camera, 3 GB of RAM, and a quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor. The smaller Xperia Z3 Compact reportedly sports a 4.5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, while other features may include a similar Snapdragon 801 processor, and only 2 GB of RAM.

IFA 2014 will be held in Berlin, Germany, between September 5 and September 10. Until September arrives, we can see several photos that allegedly depict the Sony Xperia Z3 in the slideshow below.
