Sony is giving away a number of freebies with the Sony Xperia Z2 as the flagship launches in India
The Sony Xperia Z2 has launched today in India at a price of 49,900 Rupees ($834 USD). Those purchasing the Japanese manufacturer's flagship smartphone directly from Sony's site, will be entitled to a few goodies. Tossed into the box along with your Xperia Z2, will be a Sony SmartBand SWR10. The latter will alert you when you have a call and can act as a control for media playback on your phone. And with the use of a special Android app, you can record all of your social, physical and entertainment activities. You can even set target goals for exercising, and see how close you came to meeting them. That is a 5000 Rupee ($84 USD) value. Not bad for starters.
Sony is also throwing in a premium flip cover for the Xperia Z2, that is valued at 2990 Rupees ($50 USD). This cover can also be used as a stand that gives you a favorable angle for watching movies on your phone. A 6-month subscription to Sony Music is included as well. Sony is also giving away 50GB of Box cloud storage to those purchasing the handset.
Even though the unit has an IP 58 certification protecting the handset from dust and water, there still is the possibility that the phone can get damaged. All it takes is an accidental drop to crack the screen, which is why Sony is also including 6 free months of Accidental Damage Coverage. Lastly, those purchasing the Sony Xperia Z2 in India directly from Sony, will receive 3500 Rupees ($58 USD) worth of eBooks from Flipkart.
Thanks for the tip, Aman

Back in March, when the phone launched in Taiwan, Sony gave out a free digital noise cancelling headset and a magnetic charging dock. By the time the device is available in the states, who knows what freebies Sony will be including with the handset.
