Sony introduces stylish NFC enabled speakers and headphones at IFA
Along with Sony’s major smartphone unveiling today, the Japanese company brought a couple of great accessories to introduce at IFA 2012 in Berlin.
First, the NFC and Bluetooth-enabled external speakers that you can easily carry around, referred to as the SRS-BTM8. To play music you simply tap your NFC-enabled device to the speakers and the pairing and streaming magic happens automatically. Available in black and white, the speakers work with 4 AA batteries and promise to deliver 20 hours of non-stop music.
Second, Sony introduced the MDR-1 series of headphones including a wired model (MDR-1R), a wireless Bluetooth one (MDR-1BT) and the noise-cancelling model (MDR-1RNC). The last model also features NFC connectivity for easy pairing and streaming. The headphones will arrive to retailers in October, but the price is yet an unknown.
