Sony announces Android 4.0 update schedule, Tablet S getting ICS now
Sony announced its right on track with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates for its 2011 devices, and among the first getting it right now is the company’s Sony Tablet S. The 9.7-inch tablet is now up for update and you can bump up to the latest Android if you connect to Wi-Fi. As for Sony’s 2011 Xperia phones, the update is “progressing as planned” and will be deployed as planned. Here’s a list of the handsets that will get ICS first:
- Xperia arc S,
- Xperia neo V
- Xperia ray
Other phones that are expected to get ICS at the end of May or early June include:
- Xperia arc,
- Xperia PLAY,
- Xperia neo,
- Xperia mini,
- Xperia mini pro,
- Xperia pro,
- Xperia active,
- Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman
In order to install the update, though, you’d need to physically connect the devices via a cable to your computer and then update. Sony has posted detailed instructions, so when the update arrives make sure to check them out:
