Sony Xperia Z4v to be unveiled by Verizon on September 3rd?
Just a few days ago, we told you that Verizon had discontinued the Sony Xperia Z3v. At the time, we wondered if this meant that the Sony Xperia Z4v was about to take up residence at Big Red. Well, the good news is that the Sony Xperia Z4v is indeed about to be released on Verizon. According to a video posted on YouTube, the phone will be available starting on September 3rd.

The tip adds that the phone will be priced at $599.99, and that Verizon will have some deals running. For the first week, those with the Sony Xperia Z3v can trade in the older model and receive a $220 haircut taking the price of the Xperia Z4v down to $379.99. Those with the Xperia Z3v who don't want to trade in the older phone, can still get a $70 price break to $529.99.

The Sony Xperia Z4v features a 5.2-inch LCD screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 565ppi. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 810 SoC, which includes an octa-core 2GHz CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage. 21GB of memory is available to the end user, and a 128GB capacity microSD slot is offered to those who require additional memory.

The back of the phone is equipped with a 20.7MP camera, with a 5MP camera adorning the front of the unit. A 3000mAh battery keeps the phone running for as long as two days, and can be charged wirelessly with support for the Qi and Powermat platforms. With an IP68 certification, the phone can be submerged in up to 9.8 feet of water and still live to tell the tale. Android 5.1 is pre-installed.
