Sony Xperia Z3v discontinued at Verizon - Xperia Z4v incoming?
Verizon Wireless recently stopped selling the Sony Xperia Z3v, a handset that it launched about 10 months ago.
XperiaBlog reports that, according to some Verizon customers, the carrier confirmed that the Z3v has been discontinued. However, this shouldn't upset Sony fans who are on Verizon, because a brand new Xperia will be released soon. Obviously, we're talking about the Xperia Z4v.
Announced in June as a device exclusive to Verizon, the Xperia Z4v is Sony's first smartphone to offer a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display. That aside, the handset is based on the Xperia Z3+ / Z4, thus being water-resistant, and relying on an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor. The Z4v is thicker than the Z3+ / Z4 (8.6 mm vs 6.9 mm), and has a slightly different design.
Verizon and Sony have yet to reveal the launch date of the Xperia Z4v. The smartphone is expected to be released "this summer" anyway, which means it should hit shelves before the end of August. Until we hear more about this, you can check out our Sony Xperia Z4v hands-on for a closer look at the upcoming handset.
