Sony Xperia Z3+ launched in the UK, free headphones and Tidal subscription included
Sony's latest global high-end smartphone, the Xperia Z3+, is now available to buy in the UK, where Carphone Warehouse allows customers to choose between three color versions of the handset: white, black, and ice green (the last one is exclusive to Carphone).
The British retailer is asking £549.99 (about $873) for an off-contract Xperia Z3+, while also offering it for free on contract, on plans starting at £40 per month (on O2, Vodafone, or EE). Customers who are buying the Xperia Z3+ on contract will receive a free pair of hi-res Sony headphones, as well as a 3-month subscription to Jay-Z's Tidal music service.
Unlike the Xperia Z4v (which is a Verizon-only device that sports a 5.2-inch Quad HD display), the Z3+ keeps the same 5.2-inch 1080p screen of last year's Xperia Z3. However, it does bring several different features, including a 5 MP front-facing camera, and a new processor.
Not long ago, Sony admitted that the Xperia Z3+ can have issues with overheating (thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset), but promised that a fix would be soon available via a software update. So, who's looking forward to buying the Z3+?
