Sony Xperia Z2 is coming with active noise-cancellation technology for headphones
Together with the Xperia Z2 and the Xperia Z2 Tablet, Sony showcased a new pair of in-ear headphones. They have microphone built-in, but unlike traditional active noise-canceling headphones, the DSP processing is done in the phone/tablet instead of in the headphones themselves. This makes the 'phones cheaper, they don't have to have batteries, and Sony claims that the results are better. We tested them at the show, and you can easily hear the active noise-canceling effect - it works pretty good. We hope Sony will sell the Xperia Z2 / Z2 Tablet bundles with a pair of these, as otherwise the technology built in the phone is worthless, as only a few will bother buying compatible pair separately.
