Sony Xperia XZ and X Performance receive a new update, see what's included

A new update has started rolling out OTA (over the air) for Sony's two 2016 flagships - the Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ. The firmware upgrade contains the recently-released Android security update for the month of July and should bump the build number of both handsets to 41.2.A.7.35.

At the time of writing, the size of the patch isn't known, but if its contents are similar to the one introduced on the Xperia X, it should weigh in at about 90-100MB. Currently, the patch is available to only a few regions, so you might have to wait a few days before you receive a push notification. Nonetheless, we have to give kudos to Sony for implementing these changes in a timely manner for a good number of its high-end devices, and we certainly hope that this trend will continue in the future.

As always, make sure that your phone is sufficiently charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network before proceeding. You can check for the update manually by heading to Settings > About Device > Software Updates.
