Sony Xperia Tablet Z hands-on videos emerge, signature power key is the new Xperia design trademark
Sony just announced its Xperia Tablet Z in the beginning of the week as part of the NTT DoCoMo spring portfolio, and we already heard that the waterproof slate will expand its reach beyond Japan at some point.
The big news about Sony's Android tablet is not that it sports a 1920x1200 pixels display - after all, we had the iPad 3/4 and Nexus 10 last year - but that the Full HD resolution display is crammed into an extremely thin 6.9mm waterproof chassis, with stellar design to boot.
Hands-on photos and videos have already emerged, as you can see in the slideshow below, and if they prove anything, it's that the design feels as pretty as the renders we saw upon launch. Another thing for the casual observer is that the Tablet Z actually sports the same circular metal power key we first saw on the Xperia Z, so it's a hint of a new design trend for the 2013 Xperia lineuup right there.
Indeed, Sony Mobile Communications' Wikipedia entry was updated to reflect that "The Sony Ericsson Liquid Energy Logo which was the hallmark logo used on Sony Mobile products up until the 2012 series of phones was replaced with a new signature power button design as the new design signature hallmark to easily identify a Sony cellular phone which debuted with the 2013 series of Xperia mobile phones."
