Sony Xperia M2 Aqua to be launched in Canada this week
Last month, when Sony announced the Xperia M2 Aqua, it didn’t say if the handset would be available in North America. However, it looks like it will: according to MobileSyrup, the new smartphone should be released in Canada on October 2.
Reportedly, the Xperia M2 Aqua will be launched by Videotron (one of Canada’s smaller carriers), but it may also be available via Rogers and others. The handset should be free on contract at Videotron, while its off-contract price is expected to be between $250 - $300.
Officially announced by Sony in August, the Xperia M2 Aqua isn’t too different from the slightly older Xperia M2. The only noticeable difference is that the Aqua is dust- and water-resistant (IP68). That aside, the new smartphone features Android KitKat, a 4.8-inch IPS display with 540 x 960 pixels, LTE, NFC, an 8 MP rear camera, 1.1 MP front-facing camera, and a quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor. There’s 1 GB of RAM on board, 8 GB of expandable storage space, and a 2300 mAh battery.

We don’t know if the Xperia M2 Aqua will be launched in the US. But at least we can be sure that the Xperia Z3 series is headed to the States.
