Sony Xperia GX to hit NTT DoCoMo in July with illuminated logo, the Xperia SX in August with candy colors
We still don't know if and when there will be international versions of the hotly anticipated Sony Xperia GX and its smaller sibling the Xperia SX, but a tipster has confirmed their Japanese launch timeframe at least.
According to him, the Sony Xperia GX will be available July in NTT DoCoMo's lineup, while the Xperia SX will arrive a month later in August, both coinciding with the scheduled "summer launch" in Sony's press release.
Apart from the launch times, we get official confirmation on the size and weight that we were only tipped to before, thanks to a leaked spec sheet from the carrier. The cherry on the top of the rumor is that the Xperia GX will feature a lit Sony logo, which we hope will make it in the international version, while the Xperia SX seems to be arriving in a few flashy colors, including candy pink and wild orange.
Just a reminder, the Xperia GX is expected to be Sony's new flagship when it lands later in the summer, with the newest 13MP "stacked" Exmor R camera sensor from Sony, a 4.6" HD screen, Snapdragon S4 and LTE, and on-screen buttons only (bow), plus this is all stuffed in a pretty compact frame with the distinctive arched design on the sides.
See the leaked DoCoMo spec and press sheets in the slideshow below, we can't wait for Wednesday, when the Japanese carrier's summer lineup will be revealed for a chance to glimpse at the Xperia GX in flesh and blood.
