Sony MWC event confirmed for February 24th, might see a 'Sirius' flagship and the 'Castor' tablet

Sony began sending out invitations for a Mobile World Congress press conference, meaning we will see new phone and possibly tablet gear from the Japanese in Barcelona, too, just like last year, when the Tablet Z was announced.

The press event will take place at 08:30 CET/01:30 ET on Monday, February 24th February. That same day we are also having Samsung's Unpacked event, expected to see the Galaxy S5 announced, but it is way later in the evening.

At the event, Sony Mobile is poised to announce an Xperia Z1 refresh, codenamed D6503 "Sirius", a budget Sony D230X, and eventually the Xperia Castor tablet, which might very well be the successor of the world's thinnest Tablet Z. We will, naturally, be there live to relay each and every announcement as it happens.
