Sony Ericsson renames the Idou to Satio, announces the Aino and the Yari
The Satio is expected to be the first phone to have an 12MP camera

The Sony Ericsson Aino is the company’s first touchscreen feature phone. It is a stylish slider, equipped with a large 3-inch screen. The handset looks really stylish and will come with a large number of high-end features, such as 8.1-megapixel camera with Photo flash. The unique one is called Remote Play with PLAYSTATION 3, which basically allows you to control and access media content on your console. Other goodies include Wi-Fi, A-GPS and 3D games. This one should also come out sometime in early Q4 2009.

In the end, there is the Yari – Sony Ericsson’s next-generation handset dedicated to gaming. It is a slider too, but houses much smaller 2.4-inch display. The manufacturer promotes its “unique” capabilities like gesture and motion-controlled gaming. It would be nice to see what this actually means and if it brings something really new to the market. Other key features include gaming–dedicated keys, games carousel, which should allow you to access your entertainment content really fast and 5MP camera. The phone should be released in early Q4 this year.

All three phones have American versions, respectively: Satio(a), Aino(a) and Yari(a), which sport global 3G.
