Sony Ericsson gets cut up for slow repairs in UK
According to Mobile News, Sony Ericsson’s turnaround times for faulty handsets in UK and Ireland have been fiercely criticized by angry dealers. Some of them claim they have had to wait much longer than expected to get faulty handsets repaired, while others complain that SE has refused product repairs if no proof of purchase is provided. The complaints are targeting both Sony Ericsson’s own repair centers and approved service providers like Fone Logistics, Total Repair Solutions, Fleet Communications and SBE.
According to the source, Sony Ericsson’s head of customer services for the region denied the accusations, saying the service procedures of the company were not only on par with those of the competitors, but also most repairs were, in fact, carried out by the very same service providers used by the competition. He also stated that handsets were indeed taken for servicing even if no proof of purchase was presented, but only after performing an IMEI check to ensure the device warranty was still valid.
