Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 to run Windows Mobile?
Ted Morgan is the founder and CEO of the Boston-based Skyhook Wireless, a major player on the geolocation services market. According to GigaOm, while talking about the different applications of geolocation in today’s mobile devices and the future of the technology, Mr. Morgan mentioned the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 smart phone.
The name came out as he was giving examples of the deals his company had lost because of free offers. The Xperia X2 was one of those - the Windows Mobile device will be using geolocation data from Google instead.
Now, his slip doesn’t tell us much, but it’s the first somewhat credible information we have confirming the existence of this device. It is also the first actual data of the OS that will power the X2, rebutting the rumors Sony Ericsson have ditched WM in favor of another OS for their new Xperia phone.
