In the aftermath of last weeks head-to-head launch of the Motorola DROID 2 and BlackBerry Torch 2, it would've been very difficult to attract customers to other handsets that don't quite set the bar higher for their respective platforms. Enter the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, once deemed as a top-end Android contender, which just started to go on sale through AT&T for the 2-year on-contract price of $149.99 – just a tad under that gold standard of $199.99. AT&T's Android lineup has been increasing of late with devices like the HTC Aria, Samsung Captivate, and also Dell Streak making their presence. Even though the handset is packing the older Android 1.6 build, it features some nice hardware under the hood – such as a 4” WVGA capacitive touchscreen, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8.1-megapixel auto-focus camera with an LED flash, and of course Sony Ericsson's unique user interface.
