Sony Ericsson Aspen is the first official Windows Mobile 6.5.3 phone
It is good to see Sony Ericsson expand its GreenHeart family of phones. After all, everything that contributes to preserving the planet is a good thing. After we previewed the “green” Sony Ericsson Hazel and Elm, we were left with a rather positive impression about the company’s GreenHeart feature phones. Now, we are glad to see the manufacturer merge the GreenHeart monicker with a smartphone. The Sony Ericsson Aspen (previously leaked as the Faith) is a Windows Mobile candybar with a front-facing QWERTY keyboard and a cautiously small 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen.

What managed to get us really excited about the Aspen though (in addition to the homescreen personalization we see on the official images), is that it will run the latest 6.5.3 version of the operating system, known to bring some real finger-friendly optimizations to the interface. That will surely come in handy, having in mind the small display on the Aspen.

The phone itself will be available in selected markets from the second quarter of the year, but unfortunately the price remains unknown for now. For more details on the Sony Ericsson Aspen’s specs, check out the link below! And here is a demo video of WM6.5.3’s new features, shown on a Toshiba TG01.

UPDATE: Video after the jump!
