Sony reveals when to expect Android 9 Pie update and what phones will get it
Sony Mobile is the newest handset manufacturer to provide information about its Android 9 Pie update roadmap. Last week, information claiming to be official stated that the Japanese company plans to update six Xperia smartphones to Android 9 Pie.

Today, Sony Mobile announced when customers can expect the first Android 9 Pie updates to drop and what phones will actually get it. So, the first wave of smartphones will receive the major Android OS update starting November: Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Premium, Xperia XZ2 Compact, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZ1, and Xperia XZ1 Compact.

The second wave of Sony smartphones will receive Android 9 Pie updates in early 2019: Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia XA2 Plus. And that's just about it, these are the only smartphones Sony plans to update to Android 9 Pie in the coming months.

Sony also published a helpful infographic that provides customers with in-depth information about how a new Android rollout works, and its journey from Google to the Xperia smartphones, which you can find at the source link below.
