So just what was in Apple's Lucky Bag this year?
Last month, we told you that Apple would continue its annual Lucky Bag promotion in 2015. Today is the day that Apple, and other Japanese retailers, stuff bags full of merchandise and sell it at a discount. Japanese Apple Stores sold about 300 bags each this year, for a total of 2500 units that were purchased.  Apple offered four different bags, valued from $640 to $1280. Consumers spent $300 for their Lucky Bag, and had no idea which one they were buying.

Each Lucky Bag contained an Apple TV, a special New Year's edition of the Mophie powerstation, a pair of Beats PowerBeats2, an iTunes gift card valued at $8 and an Incase ICON Slim Pack backpack, which contained all of the above items. In addition, each bag included one major Apple device.

The big prize this year was the bag that featured an 11-inch Apple MacBook Air and other accessories, including a limited edition Power Support Air Jacket. Another bag, said to be worth $1070, replaced the MacBook Air with a 16GB Apple iPad Air 2. Another bag worth $814 had a 16GB Apple iPad mini 3 in place of the iPad Air 2. The most widely received bag had a 16GB Apple iPod Touch inside.
