Snapdragon-powered Archos 50d Helium runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, costs $129
Not long after announcing the MediaTek-based 50 Helium Plus and 55 Helium Plus, Archos today unveiled another new Android handset, this time powered by a Qualcomm processor, and called 50d Helium.

If you're not familiar with Archos, we can tell you that the company (based in France) is known for releasing affordable smartphones with decent features. That's also the case with the 50d Helium, which will be available for $129, unlocked.

Running Android 5.1 Lollipop, the Archos 50d Helium offers LTE and dual SIM support, and sports a 5-inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels. The handset has a 5 MP front-facing camera to take care of your selfie needs, and a 13 MP camera with LED flash on back. Other features include a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, microSD card support, and a 2100 mAh battery. The new Archos smartphone also comes with "two soft, stone finished interchangeable backs in Storm Blue and Stone Grey to perfectly match your taste."

Starting later this month, Archos will sell the 50d Helium in the US and Europe. Do you think the handset is worth $129?
