SlingPlayer for Windows Mobile gets updated
Until mobile web browsers become advanced enough to handle Flash very easily, people will have to resort to other outlets to watch television. Luckily for those who still use a Slingbox to get their TV fix while away from home, their popular SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Mobile phones is getting a much needed update. The latest version bumps it up to 2.0 and brings along a host of much needed features to rejuvenate its interface. It also allows support for popular touchscreen phones and widescreen formats like the HTC Pure, Tilt 2, Imagio, Touch Pro2, and many others – providing an enjoyable experience of viewing live television and DVR recordings. Although wireless carriers despise data hogs, the application still allows for unrestricted streaming on both 3G and Wi-Fi- connections. Rather than whipping out the stylus to navigate through the menus, the interface also got a facelift with finger friendly icons. Just be careful to watch out how much data you consume using the SlingPlayer 2.0 while watching your shows – overages can always come out of nowhere and bite you.
