Sling headed to an Android phone near you this summer
Taking your favorite television shows on the road will soon become a permanent reality for Android owners out there this summer that own a Slingbox. The Sling player for Android is not quite complete just yet, but it was seen running recently on an HTC Nexus One, Motorola DROID, and Samsung Behold II. Essentially the SlingPlayer app will enable users to control their Slingbox so that they can change the channel to a specific show or even control a home DVR. The best part about it all is the fact that it'll stream over 3G or Wi-Fi to your handset – making the experience sweeter now that users will literally be able to watch their shows just about anywhere. Although the streaming capabilities were being displayed on the three Android powered smartphones, the UI wasn't quite ready to be filmed on camera – despite that, it's expected to run similarly to the iPhone app. With spring finally here, summer isn't too far away before Android owners can look forward to be delighted by this app.
