The announcement event for the
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is currently live and it seems that there are tons of leaks to accompany it on Chinese social media. The press conference should wrap up soon but before that happens and we cover the phone in its entirety, let's see how it compares in size to the 2016
Mi Mix.
As you can see from these photos, version 2.0 of the full-screen phablet is truly smaller than the original. The latter sports a 6.4-inch display diagonal, while now we're certain that Mi Mix 2 will have a screen that's 6.2 inches at most. Xiaomi is also sticking to the 18:9 (2:1) aspect ratio which the first Mi Mix rocked before the
LG G6 and
Samsung Galaxy S8 emerged in 2017. The backs of the two handsets are almost identical, but we have to note that the new model has corners that are slightly more rounded.
Apart from that, it is now confirmed that the Mi Mix 2 will pack a Snapdragon 835 chipset. It is expected that it will come with 6GB RAM in three variations that will differ in terms of internal memory. The phablet will also support USA mobile bands, so Xiaomi might be thinking of a North American release at some point. Stay tuned for more info.
