Scrabble is now available for free from the Android Market
EA games has just released an
official version of Scrabble for the Android Market on the heels of the success that word game
Words with Friends has been having. Not only is Scrabble free, but it will also allow you to
challenge other players using iOS or on Facebook. You can play up to 50 games at one time, and if you are using a phone running Android 2.2 or higher, you can get a message in the notifications bar when it is your turn to play. A chat icon will blink during a game if you have a message, so you can strike up a conversation with your opponent.
An interesting feature allows the app to take the tiles from your previous turn and tell you what was the
best word you could have come up with. After the game is over, you can check out the stats to see what the highest scoring word was. One advantage to playing Scrabble over your phone is that you don't have to worry about the dog or cat (or your sore loser opponent) knocking over the tiles!
