The Amazon Appstore includes many popular titles like Candy Crush Saga
Starting on December 24th and ending on December 26th, Amazon is giving away $220 worth of paid apps for free. The apps range in price from 99 cents to $64.99 and feature the handiwork of developers like Halfbrick Studios, Rovio Entertainment and Sega of America. Also starting today, those who buy or gift Amazon Coins will receive a 30% discount on their coin purchase. That is triple the amount of the usual savings to spend on apps, games and in-app purchases.
For the rest of this month and into the new year, customers can receive discounts of 50% to 85% from developers like Disney, Gameloft and Sony Pictures Television. The Amazon Appstore is gaining more users thanks to its inclusion on BlackBerry 10.3.1. That means that those purchasing the
BlackBerry Passport and the just released
BlackBerry Classic have the opportunity to download and install Android apps from the Amazon Appstore.
As of this summer,
there were 240,000 apps lining the shelves of the Amazon Appstore, three times the number that populated the store last year. The hugely successful
Candy Crush Saga game is available from the Appstore, as is Netflix, and many of the titles in the Angry Birds series.
