Samsung's Indulge set for February 23rd launch through MetroPCS
Last year, MetroPCS beat out Verizon by launching its LTE network before Big Red. It also launched the first LTE enabled phone-the Samsung Craft. Now hoping to beat Verizon to market with the first LTE enabled smartphone, MetroPCS will apparently launch the Samsung R10 Indulge on February 23rd. The price of the phone is $399.99.
The Samsung Indulge is the LTE enabled version of Sprint's Samsung Transform, but will be powered by a 1GHz processor. Android 2.2 (Froyo) will be on board along with both a front and back facing camera. The latter will be 5MP with flash and video capture.
Verizon's first LTE smartphone, the HTC Thunderbolt, will have a 4.3 inch display and be powered by a 1GHz snapdragon chip. The 8MP camera has a dual-LED flash and can capture video at 720p. As we reported, a late February launch for the phone seems in order, which could allow MetroPCS to beat out Big Red once again.
