Samsung's Game Launcher is finally available for the Galaxy S6 and Note 5
When Samsung released the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge this year, it introduced a pair of new apps for gaming optimization with them. Called Game Launcher and Game Tools, the former creates a folder, which automatically houses all of the user's games, while the latter provides in-game toggles do disable the phone's capacitive keys, disable alerts, record gameplay, or take a screenshot.
Many expected that the gamer-oriented utilities would be passed along to the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and Note 5 when the Marshmallow patch for said devices arrives, however, that turned out not to be the case. Well, better late than never, or at least that's what they say — the Game Launcher is now available on the Galaxy Apps store and can be downloaded by owners of the 2015 flagship Galaxy lineup.
The S7 phones also have a battery saver mode specifically addressing gaming situations – one that lowers screen resolution and reduces frame rate when a game is open so that it doesn't drain the handset's battery a bit too fast. Well, the same feature will now be available for the Galaxy S6 generation via the Game Launcher — just look for the “Save power during game” option in the lower part of the Launcher's folder. The power saving menu itself looks identical to the one found on the Galaxy S7.
Happy gaming!
