When looking for the best tablets money can buy at any given time, it's almost always a good idea to choose a brand and go with said company's latest and greatest models. Unless, of course, you're on a tight budget, in which case you might want to consider either a newer mid-ranger or an older flagship.
Despite their much more advanced age, the high-end Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+ are still nowhere near as affordable as the humbler Galaxy Tab A8, which doesn't mean you shouldn't take the two 2020-released giants into consideration as low-cost alternatives to this year's premium Tab S8 family.
The Tab S7 and Tab S8 series practically share the same exact eye-catching design and robust construction, not to mention very similar high-quality screens and hefty batteries. But while a "regular-sized" Galaxy Tab S8 normally starts at $799 with no strings attached, the 11-inch Tab S7 can currently be yours for as little as $336.56... in "open box" condition.
That's a pretty serious inconvenience, especially when you also note the limited 30-day Woot warranty provided by Amazon's daughter company with these "factory reconditioned" units available in a Mystic Bronze color and 128GB storage variant.
But you're looking at a huge discount as well from a retail price of $650 (for brand-new devices) that's somehow unchanged on Samsung's official US website at the time of this writing. Although the Galaxy Tab S7 has been on sale at substantial discounts plenty of times since 2020, no retailer or trusted eBay vendor has ever come close to Woot's current price as far as we know.
The Amazon-owned e-tailer also has the 11-inch Snapdragon 865 powerhouse on a "clearance" sale in 256 and 512GB storage configurations at $368.99 and $440.06 respectively, while the 12.4-inch Galaxy Tab S7+ can be purchased for a limited time only in exchange for $590.49 in open box condition with a 30-day warranty and a whopping 512 gigs of local digital hoarding room.
In addition to the aforementioned processor, which should provide more than decent raw performance for these prices, the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+ also have stellar battery life, blazing fast charging, dual rear-facing cameras, silky smooth 120Hz Super AMOLED displays, and Android 12 software in common. And yes, those are all things the Tab S8 and Tab S8+ offer as well... at much higher prices.
