Samsung's Galaxy Prevail II lands on Boost Mobile
No surprises here – the Galaxy Prevail II holds onto tradition as it makes an appearance amidst Boost Mobile's offerings, just like its predecessor last year. What's more, the updated mid-ranger will once again offer its services for the budget-friendly $179.99 off contract.
This time, the refreshed iteration will come preloaded with an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running on a 4-inch WVGA 480x800 display. Helping run these and the 5-megapixel shooter is a 1.4GHz single-core Snapdragon S2 processor powered by a 1750mAh removable battery. In terms of memory, you get 1GB of RAM and just 4GB of internal memory (this is made better since a 2GB microSD card is included in the box). Nothing fancy on the radio front – don't even think about 4G – you do, however, get Bluetooth 4.0.
With news of the next generation of superphones occupying most of our attention lately, the Prevail II has that run-of-the-mill feel. Nevertheless, it should make for an affordable entry into the world of Android.
