Samsung unveils new 32GB microSD card
Remember when 1GB microSD cards were considered part of the upper echelon in mobile memory solutions? Always continuing to break new boundaries, Samsung announced today their latest pinnacle in high-density memory solutions – the 32GB microSD card. That’s a lot of memory considering what you can do with that amount. It uses a 30-nm class 32GB NANDflash memory in a casing that’s 1mm thick and roughly 0.7mm high – that’s a lot of stuff packed into something so small; micro actually. Although the unveiling has finally arrived, mass production for these cards won’t happen until next month – it’s currently being sampled by OEMs first. You’d better start saving a fortune if you want to be one of the first to purchase them – just expect a price tag inflated so high that it may as well cost more than your phone. One they’ve been circulating for a while, we’d expect prices to drop down so you won’t have to plan on paying monthly installments for it.
