Samsung to release a 'Batman vs. Superman' edition of the Galaxy S7 edge
A short while after the Galaxy S6 edge had been announced at last year's Mobile World, it was reported that Samsung was contemplating some Avengers-themed variants of the device. Eager fans of the comic book heroes then threw up a few concepts, with several Marvel editions of the curvaceous device having been touted. What we eventually got was the enigmatic Iron Man edition in May, which was not only extremely limited in supply and reserved for select Asian markets, but cost an arm and a leg. With the S7 edge now in the pipeline, Sammy is said to be making more plans for at least one comic-themed version, this time based on Batman vs. Superman.

Batman vs. Superman, which has been created on a reported budget of over 200 million bucks, is a major movie release for this year, meaning a collaboration with Samsung's flagship product line could be a mutually beneficial one. According to Korean blog Naver, the special edition of the S7 edge could arrive in March or April, and may coincide with the release of the standard model.

Given what we saw last year and knowing Samsung, though, it'll probably arrive some time after the original S7 edge makes its way to market. The Korean firm likes to tease these things, and given the buzz around the Iron Man version, a delay would keep fans excited for something even after the roll-out of the S7 duo.

Then again, the movie is slated to hit theaters on 25th March, so it may be the case that the S7 edge Batman vs. Superman edition is released contemporaneously to the plainer variant. Details are pretty scarce for now, and it's not definite that this device will ever see the light of day. One thing that we can be quite sure of, however, is that if a Batman vs. Superman version is on the cards, it will probably be limited and costlier than the base-level variant..

Here's hoping that it will reach a few more markets this time around. As we await more info, would you be tempted by a Batman vs. Superman S7 edge? Let us know via the comments!
