Being the first Windows Mobile powered smartphone for MetroPCS does have its advantages, even more so when it's scheduled to receive a healthy and expected update to get it into the same level of some other contemporary handsets. The Samsung Code might not be the most high-end Windows Mobile handset out there, but when it comes to the offerings available on MetroPCS's lineup, it easily sticks out more than ever. Samsung will apparently be updating the Samsung Code to Windows Mobile 6.5 in the near future – it's even confirmed on the MetroPCS accessories page where it lists two different handsets; the Samsung Code and Samsung Code 6.5. In addition, it's being reported that shipments for the current handset has been halted indefinitely due to issues being found with the update. Plus it looks like Samsung is in the process of replacing the Windows Mobile 6.1 version with this new version – so either way it looks like good news all around for current and future owners.
