Samsung has brought back the flip phone, not that it could ever go away completely, to China Mobile. The world's largest carrier is getting a new Android powered flip phone, the G9098. With the squared off corners, the device does resemble the
Samsung Galaxy S II. And the faux leather design on the back should quickly bring to mind the
Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The flip phone comes with a pair of 3.67 inch Super AMOLED screens, both offering resolution of 480 x 800. The outer glass offers touchscreen capabilities, while the inner screen allows the device to work as a regular flip phone. A quad-core 2.3GHz processor is under the hood (most likely the Snapdragon 800), with 2GB of RAM inside. A microSD slot is available to those who need additional memory, and the back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 13MP and 2 MP respectively. A 1900mAh cell powers the phone.
As we noted, the Samsung G9098 will be offered to customers of China Mobile. Pricing was not disclosed.
