Samsung phone with a gargantuan screen leaks from its Polish R&D center
Those rumors about a Samsung handset with 5+" Super AMOLED HD display sporting the sweet 720x1280 pixels of resolution just got all the more credible after a leaked photo. The phone was rumored to be called Galaxy Q, but we already had one with this name announced officially, so it will probably grab a different title.
The picture is supposedly taken in the vicinity of Samsung's Research&Development Center in Warsaw, Poland, and the guy holding it in the metro or a bus appears to be handling a prototype, as evidenced by the yellow sticker on the frame. Samsung's website about the activities of this R&D center in Warsaw states: "Since the opening of a new Mobile Lab in June this year we also develop, customize and test for mobile phones software".
But the dimensions, oh, those dimensions! The device looks extremely thin, but even then it can't hide the fact that the screen is above and beyond anything we are used to even in the current 4"+ Android flagships. The tipster actually mentioned that the phone with the supersized screen seemed to be a member of Samsung's Galaxy Android line.
It will join the likes of Dell Streak, but, depending on how ergonomic Samsung has managed to craft it, it will probably be more successful, given that huge screen with alleged Super AMOLED HD technology. For now this leaked picture is also part of the rumor mill, but it shouldn't be too long before Samsung blows some brains out with its September 1 Unpacked event at the IFA 2011 Expo.
What do you all think, can you put such a display to good use as your daily phone?
