Samsung is partnering with BuzzFeed and digital news media NowThis News to produce VR video content that will make use of Samsung's Gear 360 camera and will be available to watch on the Gear VR. The partnership between the three companies will lead to the creation of over 140 360-degree videos, that will supposedly reach “over 300 million users,” Samsung claims.

If you've never watched the news with a VR headset strapped to your face—which we're sure is a riveting experience—than you'll be happy to hear that this will soon be a possibility. Aside from news, the 360-video content will also encompass how-to videos, virtual tours around the world, and other forms of video entertainment.

“Our 360-degree and virtual reality technologies enable more interactive storytelling to help consumers gain a deeper understanding of the world. These partnerships are a testament to our dedication to reimagining the way moments are captured and shared, and making these immersive experiences accessible to more consumers,”
said Younghee Lee, CMO and Executive Vice President, Samsung Electronics.
