Samsung reportedly testing prototypes with behind-the-display selfie cameras

With current smartphones, the need for front-facing cameras and other sensors means that either a bezel or a pop-out module is required. Unsurprisingly, Samsung isn’t a fan of the latter solution, but also isn’t too keen on implementing notches. Because of this, the company is reportedly testing a few prototypes at the moment that make use of behind-the-screen selfie cameras.
As Samsung and other smartphone manufacturers aim for completely bezel-less designs, behind-the-screen implementations for sensors are a necessity for companies that want to avoid the possible reliability issues that come with slidable or pop-out designs. At the moment, though, the focus appears to be reducing the size of bezels and notches.
